Anthony Atamanuik is Going to Take on Trump in a New Show

For those who have been fans of his for a while, we’re excited that Anthony Atamanuik is finally getting his due. Even if it is a show about Donald Trump.

Anthony Atamanuik is finally getting his platform as Donald Trump. The impression was born at an ASSSSCAT show (one that I was actually at). And since, he’s been playing the president and teaching us all about what we should fear with this administration. He’s funny, he’s clever, and he has a way of playing Trump that makes you uncomfortable and makes you think.

Previously famous for his work on 30 Rock, Anthony had become a staple of UCB (the improv and sketch comedy theater based in New York City and Los Angeles). As an improviser myself, I used to see Anthony do comedy every week and was floored by his timing.

But his Trump is what truly put him on the map. And now, lucky for us all, he’ll have a television show as the president on Comedy Central. According to Deadline, the show will premiere on April 27 after The Daily Show.

Check out the teaser Comedy Central put out for The President Show below:

Atamanuik talked a bit about the show and he thanked Comedy Central for giving him the platform.

"“Laughing at the President is a proud American tradition and we hope not to disappoint anyone in that department. But our political system is too broken for us to be content joking about one man, even though he is a disastrous silly little toddler boy. Mostly I’d just like to thank Comedy Central for giving us this platform to speak truth to power and if we’re lucky, end up in prison!”"
