4. She’s stunningly beautiful

Is this a little superficial? Perhaps it is. But you can’t deny one of the first things we notice about a person right off the bat is what they look like. And Dany, played by the lovely Emilia Clarke, is nothing short of absolutely gorgeous. She is a queen, after all.

Someone like Dany is very comfortable with who she is. She’s self-aware, clear headed, and passionate about her goals. That kind of connection with the mind usually is reflected on the physical as well. Dany may be a tough leader at times, but she’s inherently good-hearted. Her kind nature just shows up on her face, giving her a royal glow that some of us only hope to achieve via YouTube makeup tutorials.

During certain scenes in the HBO show, the lighting on Emilia’s face is usually soft, especially on a set like inside the Great Pyramid of Meereen. The lights give Dany porcelain-like features in some instances, capturing her beauty perfectly. This doesn’t necessarily count for the times she’s being hauled through Vaes Dothrak in Season 6, but even Emilia Clarke can make dusty and dirty work.

We also just naturally pay attention to people who are more physically attractive. We humans are visual creatures, and it doesn’t hurt to have something nice to look at as they speak about the wonders of a world free of slaves. It’s appealing any way you slice it.
