Doctor Who Season 10 officially begins on April 15. The BBC dropped twenty new photos featuring Twelve, Bill and an assortment of interesting monsters to get you excited.

With the new season of Doctor Who less than a month away [insert multiple screaming face emojis here], the floodgates of series promotion are officially open. After all, the show’s been off the air for over a year now – 2016 Christmas special aside. The folks in charge definitely want to ramp up excitement among all us Whovians as early and often as possible. And dropping a bunch of photos from Season 10 certainly seems like a good way to do that.

The BBC released twenty new photos from the upcoming season. (Whew!) It appears as though they’re from a variety of episodes across the season. And they give us a good look at some of the guest stars and new monsters that were featured in the latest trailer.

Among all these images are a few standouts. Of course there are plenty of shots of Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi looking various degrees of upset. We also see a few of new companion Bill, played by Pearl Mackie. If you squint in some of these pictures you can spot Matt Lucas’ Nardole. There’s also a photo of iconic mystery series actor David Suchet in his upcoming supersecret role as The Landlord. (I mean, Poirot on Doctor Who! How cool is that?) And, of course, there are lots of monsters. Yes, a Dalek makes an appearance. But there are also plenty of new creatures. These include weird robots with emoji-like faces, what looks like a person made of wood, and some long-fingered faceless humanoid figures that we can only assume are the Monks that will feature in this season’s upcoming three-part story.
