Watch Stranger Things Star Joe Keery’s New Ferris Bueller Domino’s Commercials

Joe Keery a.k.a. Steve from Stranger Things has a new gig for Domino’s, but it’s a lot cooler than you may think. In fact, it’s Ferris Buller cool.

Do you like pizza? How about dudes in vests singing on parade floats? No? Then how about great storytelling that takes the douchebag trope and flips it on its head to make a series’ most problematic character the hero?

In Domino’s new ad campaign, all these elements come together as Stranger Things star Joe Keery replicates some of the best Ferris Bueller scenes to demonstrate the tracking feature Domino’s offers.

The first one “Home For Pizza” sees Keery and his great hair reenact the ending sequence of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Even with the same music, Keery cuts across lawns to make it home before someone else does — the pizza delivery guy.

Also, check out the surprise cameo from Alan Ruck in a hockey jersey. I love that guy.

Check it out below:

And the second video is “Life Moves Fast,” which is basically Bueller’s entire argument for staying home from school. “If you don’t stop and look around every once in awhile, you could miss it.”

In the second commercial — which features an interesting Amazon Alexa product placement — Keery faithfully styles his hair into a mohawk while in the shower.

Watch below:

With the exception of Alexa, all the other digital products seen are nondescript items. Which, again, makes calling Alexa by name stand out even more.

According to a statement from Karen Kaiser, Domino’s vice president of advertising:

"“We know that customers find the Domino’s Tracker to be a fun part of ordering from Domino’s, so we tried to capture their excitement in this new ad. While we modernized the classic scene with Domino’s Tracker technology and Domino’s custom-built delivery car, the DXP, the scene otherwise stays true to the ’80s Paramount cult classic.”"

Well done, Joe. Well done. Now I want some pizza.
