Not everybody can dash off to a Parisian holiday, but if anybody can do it, and make it look endlessly fashionable it’s Blair Waldorf and Serena Vanderwoodsen.
Even when the rest of the world was having their homes foreclosed upon, the US dollar was plummeting, and the American economy was in recessive tailspin, Blair and Serena always stayed true to themselves. Granted, their selves closely resembled Marie Antoinette, but they gave good escapism. You have to hand it to Gossip Girl for never straying very far from their original concepts. Even when things go tough, they just doubled down on the haute couture and caviar.
The two toddled around in Paris, burning the magnetic strip off their credit cards. Surely, I’ll never be able to travel like the folks from the Upper East Side, but I surely had fun watching them jet set. Watching them whisk around Paris gives me the spring-time itch to get out and go. Paris in the Spring (or the winter, fall or summer, for that matter) has a way of calling to you, especially when you’re listening through Blair and Serena’s ears.
