Again with the cat-based costumes, it seems. You know, if done wrong, these superhero suits can go really wrong. It’s really hard to strike fear into the heart of villains if you just keep reminding them of Hello Kitty, after all.

Luckily, no one is going to mistake Black Panther for a cutesy Japanese mascot. If they did, they would quickly learn the depths of their mistake.

T’Challa, the Black Panther, is the ruler of the African kingdom of Wakanda. His country produces highly advanced technology, to the point where Wakandan computer technology has become the best in the world. T’Challa has also proven himself to be a highly skilled politician and scientist. Somehow, though, he manages to carve out enough spare time to make waves as a formidable superhero.

Given that he’s got so much going for him, T’Challa doesn’t need a flashy costume. Where some of his compatriots have gone for bright primary colors and eye-catching accessories, he goes simple. True to his superhero name, the Black Panther wears a simple black supersuit. Sometimes, he deigns to wear a cape or a necklace of sorts, but you’re more likely to see him in this simple but powerful attire. Even his hood, with its clear cat ears, does nothing to take away from this striking impression.
