Lena Headey Drops Some Double-0-Hints on Twitter

Game of Thrones will end soon enough, but does Lena Headey have a reason for alluding to a certain famous British superspy?

All shows must die, even Game of Thrones. We all know it, and we know that the end will be coming after just 13 more episodes. It would seem natural for the cast to look toward the future and more work after this giant fantasy show comes to an end, right?

Well, that’s the first conclusion you can draw from the following tweet from Lena Headey:

It reads, “@Daniel_Portman just wondering if you have any opinion on who could be the next James Bond ….” Daniel Portman, who plays Podrick Payne, did actually respond to her:

To quote directly: “if it’s not Idris Elba I reckon you should do it!” In an ideal world, Lena Headey could take over as Jane Bond. Plenty of fan responses seem to suggest that they’d go see a dark-haired Lena Headey drink shaken-not-stirred martinis, romance a different man in every single movie, and drive Aston Martins that just so happen to have rocket launchers in them. We’d go see it, too!

However, at last word, MGM still wants to make another movie with Daniel Craig. Outlets like Cinemablend reported late last year that they were willing to work with his schedule. It appears things haven’t changed since then.

Perhaps Portman’s response is meant to be misleading. After all, Podrick Payne has quite the reputation with the ladies. Do remember that Tyrion didn’t need to pay the women at Littlefinger’s brothel. Could something similar happen with Podrick on the next season of Game of Thrones? It would certainly add a moment of levity to a season that has mostly promised to be darker than ever before, if the first teaser is any indication. Besides, James Bond is known for his way with women.

Would that make Brienne of Tarth the equivalent of M, then, in Westeros? And we suppose that probably makes someone like Tyrion Q, although he and Podrick are now effectively on opposite sides.
