Endora and Samantha

Endora and Samantha being witches is not even close to being the coolest thing about these ladies. Sure, Sam can twitch her nose and have all the beds made, and Endora can flick her wrist and arrive in a different country, but they are also fabulous and chic.

Samantha tried her best to mute the fact that she was completely extraordinary by moving to suburbia, marrying a a very tedious man, and making meat loaves. She constantly struggled to combat her witchy ways, so that she could lead a “normal” life. Samantha strained against the confines of her average circumstances and the constant disdain from her mortal husband.

Her mother, on the other hand, was colorful, outspoken, and just couldn’t understand Samantha’ choice to not use her magic. I have to say, I’m with Endora on this one. Why would anyone choose to live life without powers when you could lead an incredible life with them.

Endora constantly encouraged Sam to be her authentic self, and she was openly hostile to Samantha’s husband for trying to stifle her. No matter how much Samantha tried to conform, she always felt second best, and this infuriated Endora (and audiences).

Be the kind of mother that always roots for your daughter to be her truest self. And be the kind of daughter that encourages your mother wear psychedelic mumus and green, iridescent eyeshadow.
