The newest trailer of American Gods is here. It’s the trippiest, bloodiest, and weirdest thing we’ve seen from the network yet, and we love it.
There’s been quite the buzz surrounding the new series American Gods, which is based on Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel. The show will follow a similar plot line to the book and the official synopsis from IMDB reads:
"“A recently released ex-convict named Shadow meets a mysterious man who calls himself “Wednesday” and who knows more than he first seems to about Shadow’s life and past.”"
Starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Gillian Anderson, Orlando Jones, Crispen Glover, and Emily Browning, this Starz original has been teasing bits of footage to fans over the past few months. As exciting as all of this footage has been, this new trailer is nothing like we’ve seen before. It’s weird. It’s trippy. It’s eerie. And of course, it leaves us craving more.

I’m certainly a fan of the mystery and fantasy genre when it comes to television shows, especially when it has Neil Gaiman’s name behind the thick of it, but I’m mostly excited to see Ricky Whittle back in the spotlight again. His character death on The CW’s post-apocolyptic teen drama The 100 tore apart the hearts of fans and we’ve been clinging to the idea of him filling the shoes of someone just as badass as Lincoln.
This has been a long time coming for us and we’re ready to see what he can do on this new network, with this new crew, and with the role of Shadow Moon to shine in.
