4. The Beyonder

The title of “most powerful cosmic being in the Marvel universe” is a bit of a moving target. Sometimes it’s the Fulcrum. Currently, it appears to (probably) be the One-Above-All, who is some weird, non-denominational comics version of God. Both the Fulcrum and One-Above-All, by the way, appear to be based on pioneering comics creator, Jack Kirby.

At any rate, the Beyonder was once considered to be a candidate for “most powerful”. Even now, he’s a considerable foe. Given that he’s the intelligent manifestation of an entire multiverse called the “Beyond”, I wouldn’t want to face him, anyway.

In his early incarnation, Beyonder was so ridiculously superpowered as to be almost undefeated. He possessed the ability to destroy and recreate the personification of Death, for one. At one point, he takes over the entire planet Earth but finds the process ultimately boring. He wipes the entire memory of the incident from everyone’s memories, though he leaves a vague recollection of the event around for funsies, presumably.

Later versions diminished his power somewhat, though he still retained enough force to make even the most stalwart X-Man think twice. He’s still able to face off against the planet-eating Galactus without much worry and can warp reality like it’s just another boring Tuesday.
