When Netflix announced Dave Chappelle was doing two standup comedy specials, people were skeptical. Not anymore, we have a premiere date and a trailer.

“Don’t call it a comeback” because David Chapelle has always been here. It’s crazy to think the Chapelle’s Show went off the air almost eleven years ago. I wouldn’t say he’s dropped off the face of the earth. Chapelle still does his standup comedy shows but its has been awhile since he’s graced our TV screens.

This time he’s bringing his comedy to the masses with two shows on Netflix. The first is called Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin was filmed in Los Angeles Palladium March 2016. The other, Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas, was shot April 2015 at Austin City Limits Live.

Take a look at the new teaser trailer for David Chapelle Netflix special.

While the trailer itself is in black-and-white and shows, a pensive David Chapelle smoking a cigarette, the voice over tells a different story.  You know from the get-go that this isn’t going to be your average stand-up comedy special. You cannot help but get excited when you first hear David Chapelle’s voice.  His iconic cadence when delivering jokes gives you tingles.

Just to get you primed for Chappelle’s stand-up, here’s a monologue from his Saturday Night Live appearance in Nov 2016.

David Chapelle is going to bring the heat to Netflix like we know he can Tuesday, March 21 the only question is, are you going to be ready for “Care Bear Stare?”
