“Marvel’s Inhumans” has taken over headlines the last few days with its casting announcements. Next up: the actress for Medusa

Just when you thought it was over, bamMarvel’s Inhumans does it again.

Earlier this week, it was the casting of Black Bolt, and now we have our Medusa: Serinda Swan. You may recognize her from such other media as Graceland on USA, Tron: Legacy, or Aphrodite in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Lightning Thief.

In the comics, Medusa is Black Bolt’s most trusted advisor and Queen of the Inhumans. Her powers all belong to her hair, which definitely are not snakes like the Medusa of Greek Mythology.

Her red hair is pretty intense. Basically think of every single strand as an additional arm that she can control, with extra strength. Oh, and she can also make it grow to twice its length if need be. Basically, think Rapunzel on steroids and you’re pretty close.

She’s joining Anson Mount as Black Bolt and Iwan Rheon as Maximus.

Man, remember when we all thought Daisy’s dad on Agents of SHIELD was Maximus the Mad? That’s when things were a little more up to the rumor mill for fans. Inhumans should be loads of fun, as we’ll get our first look at Attilan and just the entire Royal Family in general.

And, you know, if Fox wants to give up the rights to the Fantastic Four, Medusa was part of them for a while in the comics. Why can’t Human Torch just show up on their doorstep one day in need of a burglar for some sort of heist or sting?

Who knows, maybe some of these characters will show up on Agents of SHIELD. Even if it’s just a post-credits stinger ad for the show, why not?
