Say Hello to Black Bolt, the Next Cast Member for “Marvel’s Inhumans”

“Marvel’s Inhumans” premieres in the fall, and casting has begun. Next up–its lead, for the Inhumans’ leader, Black Bolt!

Marvel’s Inhumans only surfaced a few months ago, and we still don’t quite know how to handle it. Mostly because part of us wonders if it isn’t just a replacement for that Inhumans movie that was on the docket for the end of Phase Three.

Regardless, to refresh your memory: this was announced this past fall. The one where it will premiere on ABC for its eight episode first season, but before that, its first two episodes will be broadcast in IMAX theaters across the country.

That’s a cool way to get the hype train rolling.

Today, Entertainment Weekly broke the news that the show has cast its lead, Black Bolt. Check out the tweet below:

Black Bolt will be played by Anson Mount. You may remember him from such television shows as AMC’s Hell On Wheels. Or that one episode of LOST he was in.

Mount is joining a cast that so far includes Iwan Rheon from Game of Thrones as Maximus, Black Bolt’s brother.

In case you missed it before, here’s a bit of the official synopsis, courtesy of Marvel’s website:

"The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family."

It’s going to be a crazy ride, especially since it will deal with the Royal Family of Inhumans. All we’ve seen so far on Agents of SHIELD is a handful from Afterlife and the “mistake” ones that kind of just happened due to some bad fish pills.
