Yet another new Beauty and the Beast clip has hit the internet, and we wonder if there’s going to be much movie to see in theaters.
In just over two weeks, on March 17, Beauty and the Beast will finally arrive in theaters, but as that date draws nearer, Disney has ramped up its promotional push. Just a few days ago, we got the first glimpse of “Gaston” (insert the obligatory “my what a guy” here). We’ve had photos, a look at “Belle,” and more. Apparently, the deluge won’t stop just yet.
With a tip of the hat to io9, here’s the latest clip.
The new take on Lumiere still weirds us out just a little, but it does make more sense for him to be entirely a candlestick instead of having his face on a candle. Anyway, it’s nice to get a good look at the Beast as well, and it’s impressive that he even has really nasty teeth, as you might expect of a human transformed into an animal who doesn’t take very good care of himself or his castle.
However, it strikes us that we’ve seen a pretty fair amount of the movie already, albeit in snippets. Granted, it’s not like Disney has to try and hide the plot here for fear of spoilers. The animated version has been around since the early ’90s. It’s been seen by millions.
Showing all of these clips helps appeal to all that nostalgia hiding in the corners of people’s brains, which probably results in lots of ticket sales, which helps Disney continue its general dominance at the box office. (Remember, The Jungle Book, another live-action take on an animated movie made just under a billion dollars worldwide. It seems reasonable to think Beauty and the Beast could surpass it.)
At the same time, though, is it wrong to want a little mystery? As io9 notes, we’ve gotten a lot of music from the film, although we note that we haven’t heard much of the new songs at all.

Then again, new music wouldn’t have the same nostalgic pull of, say, “Gaston.” Either way, expect more clips in the future. We haven’t heard everything yet.
