MUSIC (ORIGINAL SCORE)
Who Will Win
It’s not hard to see why the La La Land soundtrack is a nominee for original score. It’s not only a big hit with Oscar voters but also fans of the movie. The La La Land soundtrack charted in the UK, but in January it peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. There isn’t another movie soundtrack that can even come close.

Who Will Win
This award has everyone paying attention. Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda is looking to shore up his MacPEGOT award with his song “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana. Unfortunately, that’s just not going to happen. Miranda might have to wait a bit longer, but we are sure it will eventually happen for him. Justin Timberlake hope’s his first Oscar nomination for “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from the film Trolls will give him an edge. Regrettably, it looks like La La Land is going to steal this one away with “City Of Stars.” While the public might love happy pop songs in its movies, the Academy will take a more complicated music piece every time. With “City Of Stars” they can have both thanks to composing team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul with music by Justin Hurwitz.
