New Outlander Season 3 Set Photos Are Heartbreaking

New Outlander season 3 photos have leaked, and they are equal parts painful to see but reveals a crucial plot line from the books.

In Outlander season 2 we left a resigned Claire looking to make a new start in a new country with her 20th-century husband, Frank Randall. They have both come to the decision to co-parent Claire’s unborn child she shares with her presumed dead 18th-century husband, Jamie Fraser. Book readers already know how Claire and Franks’s relationship plays out, but my fans are left wondering if the TV show would mirror the book, Voyager. With the new set picture season 3 that have just been leaked, we can answer with an unequivocal, Yes. We are going to see more of Claire and Frank and how they decide to move on with their lives, and it’s not all going to be pleasant to watch.

If you haven’t read Diana Gabaldon’s third book in the Outlander series, Voyager and don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read anything past the pictures.

We have a very 60’s version of Claire and Frank. As you can see, everything isn’t all unicorns and rainbows in the Randall house. I’m loving Franks green turtleneck and brown crush velvet jacket.

Not every moment of Claire’s life is miserable. Her shining light in her life is her baby, Brianna.

In the book, Voyager, Claire and Frank’s road to reconciliation is not an easy one. They are both focused on caring for baby Brianna and making a new life for themselves, but this doesn’t last long. Deep cracks in their relationship appear early on, and at one point you begin to wonder why they even stayed together. I wouldn’t expect for season 3 to spend too much time on Claire and Frank’s relationship or lack thereof since Gabaldon wrote them as flashbacks. Since this will essentially be Tobias Menzies last season on Outlander, let’s hope they give him some meaty dialog to chew through.
