You Can Now Pre-Order Some of the Star Wars Padmé Amidala Collection

Not long after drawings of pieces inspired by Padmé and the costumes of the Star Wars prequels came out, we have images of finished pieces.

The world of geeky fashion has certainly moved forward since the time of the Star Wars prequels. No more do we have to loudly and proudly proclaim our geekdom with every single T-shirt or purse — though you certainly can if you like. However, sometimes a subtler touch is called for.

Enter Elhoffer Design’s Galactic Queen collection. When the initial designs came out, yours truly said she’d certainly make an effort to acquire one particular cardigan. Alas, it looks like that design may not be going so well.

However, with a hat tip to Fashionably Geek, we can now see and pre-order two pieces. First up, we have the Galactic Twilight Dolman:

There’s also a photo showing the detail of the knit for this dolman, which makes it look like it’ll be a lovely weight for the spring and even early summer.

That touch of purple really makes it look deeper and richer still, even with the royal blue as the primary color. The caption on this photo reveals that the design on the sleeve may change slightly between this sample and the final look.

For a brighter look, we have the Galactic Picnic Cardigan:

Based on the caption, we have to say that it does not come with a headpiece with side hairnets as Padmé had during the scene in question from Attack of the Clones. However, it does mention that there’s an option to have additional ribbons sewn on by hand.

Unfortunately, one of the other forthcoming pieces isn’t going quite as well, the Galactic Sunset Cardigan (in the above-linked post, it had the name of Galactic Sunrise, but the below caption says Sunset):

Considering the ombré effect will really make or break the piece, we have to say we appreciate the amount of effort going in to getting it right.

Hopefully the collection will succeed enough that more pieces will come out soon. There are certainly enough looks from Star Wars to support it.
