12. The X-Men Meet Dracula

This may be a good time to take a step back and reflect on Marvel as a whole. Yes, in the movie world created by Marvel, certain superheroes can’t appear together. For a while, Spider Man was restricted to his own films. The X-Men still have to sit apart in their own franchise, and mutants such as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (who are actually children of fan favorite Magneto) appear with the Avengers with nary a mention of the word “mutant”.

Marvel also owns the Blade franchise. Before it was a Wesley Snipes film series, Blade was also a relatively successful comic about a conflicted and generally humorless vampire hunter. My point is, it isn’t entirely out of the question for the X-Men to run into Dracula. They exist in the same universe as a famed vampire hunter, so the existence of vampires in general is a given, if a sometimes unacknowledged one.

In fact, Dracula himself has had quite a few run-ins throughout the Marvel universe. He’s unsuccessfully tried to turn Storm twice. He met Spider Man in 1974. Just the year before, he tussled with the Avengers. He created Baron Blood, a nemesis of Captain America. He’s battled with Dr. Strange multiple times, as well as the Fantastic Four. He even accidentally bit Howard the Duck once. So, really, his run-ins with the X-Men are just a part of his exceedingly weird Marvel presence.
