12 Reasons to Watch, Re-Watch, and Love Yuri on Ice

Some of the fun of Yuri on Ice comes straight from seeing all of the different characters’ designs. Although much of the focus settles on Victor, Yuri, and Yurio (Yuri Plisetsky), each of the different characters has two distinct costumes for both their short and free programs. Additionally, every major character is visually distinct — and has their own little quirks to give you hints to their characters without having them say a single word.
Additionally, much of the animation is simply gorgeous. We’ll reserve discussing the opening and closing credits for another time, but inside the show, aside from a few wonky frames here and there when characters are skating, things are absolutely beautiful. This show can be found in 1080p in its dubbed and subbed forms, and it honestly deserves to be watched in at least 720p.
However, that doesn’t mean that all of the costumes we see in the show are particularly realistic, though it’s not like real male figure skaters don’t embrace the sparkle every now and then. We’re just saying that no one seems to have borrowed from Yurio up there just yet this season, and that it feels a bit disappointing.
