We’re getting down to the final few moments with Pope Pius XIII. Will his reign continue smoothly or should we expect more bumps in the papacy? Here’s where you can live stream HBO’s The Young Pope Finale.

The love Lenny Belardo (Jude Law) has for himself should be obvious. But we’re still questioning how far he’ll go for God. We’re coming to the close of HBO’s Limited Series The Young Pope, and we see a symbiotic resolution on the way. Things have been messy and confusing from the start, ever since we witnessed history being made with 47-year-old Pope Pius XIII. Now we’re at a point where we see how powerful a man Lenny is. And with a looming sex abuse case finally being brought to justice, we’ll see where Lenny’s loyalties lie.

What Happened?

Cardinal Michael Spencer (James Cromwell) has passed away, but not before he lets slip that Lenny’s mother is still alive. Lenny has a good cry over this, and bawls like a baby after Spencer takes his last breath. We do get to see where Lenny’s holiness came from and why Sister Mary (Diane Keaton) thinks of him as such a saint. We’ve seen this guy be just as devilish as the next person, but not everyone is lauded as the world’s most holy man.

Also, Cardinal Gutierrez (Javier Camera) finally gets a lead on the Kurtwell case in New York City. He found enough incriminating evidence to charge him with sex crimes. and bring him back to Rome for a trial. The case that’s been built up since day one may soon see a resolution.

What’s Next?

Judging by the trailer, we’ll hopefully see some kind of action against Kurtwell. He looks frightened by what other kind of dirt Lenny could have on him. Gutierrez is learning to replace his fear with anger, which if pent up too much can have devastating effects on those he chooses as targets. It’s possible there could be some last-minute wrench throwing by Cardinal Voiello (Silvio Orlando), since he’s been rather silent the past few episodes.

Finally, Lenny is turning his eyes towards Venice, where it looks like he may give an official speech to his pilgrims after all. But remember, this is a show that likes to spin us around in circles a lot. Lenny may chicken out at the last moment, or suck it up and finally break his silence. We can’t wait to see how this pontiff wants to go out, on his or on God’s terms.
