Lin-Manuel Miranda Fulfilled our Galentine’s Dreams with a Playlist

Galentine’s day is a time for your friends and why not listen to a Galentine’s inspired playlist from Lin-Manuel Miranda to celebrate?

Galentine’s day is important to everyone and especially, apparently, to Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. No one should be surprised though, there is an ode to Ron and Leslie in the show after all.

So to support all the women in the world, Lin decided to make a playlist dedicated to the holiday for ladies and their female friends. Here is the thing, it is oh so very Lin-Manuel Miranda. And, in case you don’t know what that means, Lin makes it easy for you to figure out by listening to his playlist.

It is just random songs from powerful ladies. For instance, it starts with Destiny’s Child and then not six songs later, you get an Ashley Tisdale cover of “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid. While that isn’t too weird, a few songs later, there is “Ring of Keys” from the musical Fun Home.

Really, Lin just wanted to include awesome ladies singing songs. And it’s just what you need on Galentine’s day to enjoy the day with friends! But make sure you listen to the playlist in order. Lin took a lot of time out to make sure each track was chosen for just the right time in the playlist.

I mean, where else can you find “Ring of Keys” right after a Beyoncé song? Only on a playlist created by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He’s just a big dork and we love him for it.
