Combined with his showstopping dance moves, Michael Jackson’s legacy will live forever. Often regarded as one of the best performers of all time, some of Michael Jackson’s albums are more potent than others. Honestly, not everyone has seen the “Thriller” music video in full — it’s pretty long — but we all know the song. And if we don’t know the entire choreography, we at least know it has that weird hand motion that makes you look like a dinosaur.
Originally released in November 1982, Thriller remains the highest-selling album of all time. Yeah, that gives him the leg up on more recent megastars like Beyonce, and dare I say, Justin Bieber. When Bieber first hit the scene, people called him the King of Pop and my dad always wanted to hurl because a lot of people who worship the ground Bieber walks on weren’t even alive when Michael Jackson released Thriller.
In addition to the song “Thriller”, the album also features hits like “Billie Jean” and “Beat It”. It’s also an album that broke several racial and cultural barriers. I don’t see any of the contemperory artists doing that on the regular.
