Billy Dee Williams Says that Donald Glover is Delightful but Not Cool

Lando Calrissian is the epitome of cool (as much as Han wanted to be) and that was because of Billy Dee Williams. But does Donald Glover have it?

Billy Dee Williams met up with Donald Glover about the new Han Solo movie. For a lot of fans out there, we’re still questioning why we even need a young Han Solo movie. But after the success Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we’re all warming up to the idea.

And we got Billy’s blessing on Donald Glover! Well, kind of. The two actors went out to lunch to discuss the beloved character and fans spotted the two out in Los Feliz!

But then Billy Dee Williams sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and had this to say about Donald Glover!

"“He’s a very delightful young man, I must say. We had a very nice lunch and we talked for a very long time and it was very easy. He had questions about [Lando]. I guess he was doing what normal actors do, they just want to find out what direction they want to take so they gather their information. So, we just sat and talked, and I didn’t want to impose on anything he wanted to do — he’s got his own ideas, I would imagine. I know he has his own ideas. He’s a very talented young man. In fact, I was listening to some of his music [Childish Gambino, Glover’s musical alter-ego] and it’s pretty good stuff.”"

But when asked if he was going to be cool as Lando, Billy responded with “Well, nobody’s as cool as me.”

No matter what we fans think about this movie, one this is for sure: the cast is incredible. Donald joins Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and honestly, we’re super excited about it all.
