Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show: Twitter Fan Reaction

Fans and haters react to Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
After slaying the national anthem at last year’s Super Bowl, Lady Gaga is back and ready to tackle the prestigious half-time show. Only the musical elite are invited to perform for an audience of approximately 120 million viewers worldwide, and Lady Gaga is set to join the ranks of previous performers like Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Prince and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Considering Gaga is an unconventional performer (to say the least) who’s live shows could include anything from performance art culminating in her fake onstage death and hydraulic musical equipment to stripped down, elegant duets.
Her millions of fans, or Little Monsters, have been ready for whatever Gaga has been preparing for months.
There has been a lot of talk about politics, and whether or not Gaga will use this massive platform to speak about President Trump. Gaga was an outspoken Hillary supporter and Trump protestor and has been a long-time LGBT advocate, but said she would not be making the show anti-Trump and stick to the theme of “inclusion”. Rumours were flying that the NFL has Gaga under contract not to say anything inflammatory, but that she might be planning something to surprise everyone — especially with VP Mike Pence confirmed to attend.
With all that pressure mounting, Little Monsters were ready to finally see what their Mother Monster would do. She finally took to the stage tonight and performed a medley of her biggest hits from “Just Dance” to “Million Reasons,” after an insane stage dive and a little tribute to America, calling us all “indivisible.”
So how did Gaga do? Did she please her fans, or disrupt her haters? Check out some of the best tweets about Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
While Twitter can only speculate as to what Vice President Mike Pence thought, Gaga got high praise from former Vice President Joe Biden.
More importantly, she’s birthed a new meme.
