The Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots go head-to-head for Super Bowl 51. We’ve got you covered for when the showdown begins.

The world is preparing for the most exciting game of the year. Once again, the New England Patriots have secured their spot in football’s biggest competition, and will face off with the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51. If you’re wondering when to start preparing all those delightful Super Bowl snacks, keep on reading to get all the deets.

This year, the FOX network came up in the rotation to host the game, and NRG Stadium in Houston is the site of the showdown. If the Falcons win, they’ll make history, as they’ve never clinched a Super Bowl victory before. The team has only made it to the big game one other time. Almost 20 years ago in 1998, they were bested by the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII. The Falcons are certainly the underdogs in this fight.

But If the Patriots win, that’ll be their fifth win under head coach Bill Belichick. And pretty boy Tom Brady will secure his place in history as having the most Super Bowl wins as a quarterback. He’s currently tied with football greats Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw, who each have four wins respectively.

If you’re just in it for the superstar performances, country singer Luke Bryan will open the match by singing the National Anthem. As for the Halftime Show, there’s no definitive start time for it. We predict Lady Gaga will hit the stage around 8:00 p.m. However, football timing can get a little odd depending on time-outs, flags, and other high-contact occurrences, so keep your eyes peeled.
