On this week’s episode of How to Get Away with Murder, there are a lot of confessions, and one of the Keating Four steps up.

On this week’s episode, confessions abounded. The police inched their way closer to the truth. And, of course, there was drama. Welcome back to How to Get Away with Murder. Let’s recap.

We open in the past, with Wes and Frank sitting in the car in the alley. Wes pointedly says that the cops are investigating Annalise, and that he might talk. Frank name-checks Laurel and Annalise and says Wes doesn’t know them as well as he does. Wes points out that he means more to Annalise by now, which is basically not wrong.

Then we cut to Frank’s confession. He says he killed Wes over Laurel’s pregnancy. Annalise gets woken up in the middle of the night and escorted into a van, then into the police station. She wants her lawyer — even though Bonnie’s not great at it — but doesn’t get her. The cops want to talk about Frank.

Frank, meanwhile, tells the police to look at the camera footage to corroborate his confession. When Bonnie walks in, she sees Frank, and he asks that she apologize to Annalise for him.

Michaela’s On the Case

President Hargrove calls in Asher, Michaela, and Connor. Michaela starts out angry, but then she gets teary and angry when Wes comes up. In fact, she even goes to bat for Annalise — and Hargrove doesn’t have a way to respond.

In the D.A.’s office, Nate walks in, and the D.A. puts him back on the case because of Frank’s confession. Pointedly, he wants him to talk to Laurel. We cut directly to his visit, where he talks about his wife.

Laurel’s non-answers confirm to Nate that she hadn’t told Frank about the baby, and her call to Bonnie further confirms it to the audience. Meggy sees all of this unfold, which makes us suspect that she’ll become suddenly relevant again.

Meanwhile, the K4 find their own freedom at risk as they discover the D.A.’s investigation is much bigger than they imagined, on “How to Get Away with Murder,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network. Bonnie and A.D.A. Atwood spar verbally, and then she confabs with the non-hospitalized Keating Three. At the meeting, it comes out that Oliver knows about Sam, and Michaela and Connor fight until Bonnie manages to shush them and asks for help.

"Bonnie: “But it is your lives on the line here too. It’s as simple as that.”"

Back in jail, Annalise’s cellmates argue over whether or not she killed Wes. For her part, she rolls over in bed and tries not to listen.

Cherry’s Not Her Flavor

Meggy brings a bribe of gelatin into Laurel’s room to try and get some information. Unfortunately, she is not subtle. Laurel says that they are not friends, rejects the cherry gelatin, and kicks her out.

The Keating Three meet with Oliver, who for his part looks very concerned about Michaela’s new mafia donna act. Asher just looks worried and disturbed, and then Michaela tells Oliver to hack the D.A.

Atwood really wants to hang the case on Annalise, even as evidence mounts against Frank. She knows her job’s on the line here. Nate, who just walked in, suggests he should talk to Frank. Atwood pays him a visit instead. As she talks, we cut back and forth between Annalise listening to people in the prison showers and dealing with one prisoner in particular while Frank stonewalls.

VIOLA DAVIS

Although Annalise gets offered a razor blade for protection, she can’t take it before she has to go meet her visitor: Hargrove.

"Hargrove: “I just came to make sure you’re okay.”"

While Michaela and Connor fight yet again, Oliver gets into Atwood’s server. They learn Rebecca’s dead, but no more before Bonnie shows up.

This is Not Good

Nate finally gets his visit with Frank and talks about Annalise. Frank drops the episode title.

"“Not everything’s about Annalise.”"

Oliver discovers that Lila Stangard, the Hapstalls, Sam Keating, and more are all on the D.A.’s case against Annalise. Bonnie breaks this to Annalise herself and says that the plan should be to pin it on Frank.

The Keating Four confabs in Laurel’s room. They can’t get out of the country because Asher’s passport is expired. Laurel, for her part, mentions that they have a sketchy person around in Meggy.

Bonnie and Atwood spar again, this time over getting a deal about the unsolved murder cases. But Atwood starts talking and showing photos of Wes’ dead body. It gets Annalise to react, and Atwood walks out. No deal.

Dorothy Zbornak Would Have a Lot to Say About All of This

In the hospital room, everyone’s watching Golden Girls when Bonnie walks in and gives them the bad news. Then, she talks to Laurel alone.

"Bonnie: “You can fix this.”"

Annalise returns to her prison cell and wants the razor blade.

And then, ladies and gentlemen, we get the next Viola Davis Takes Her Makeup Off Moment. This time, it’s cutting chunks of her own weave out of her hair.

Asher walks in to Michaela’s room with a silly accent, terrible music, and candles. He does not get far until he explains he just wants to thank her by a massage. Then massage time begins.

Connor returns to Chez Oliver, and they start talking in such a way that gets my hopes up. They admit they need each other, and then there’s spooning, and hope is alive!

"Oliver: “Don’t let go.”Connor: “I won’t.”"

Laurel finally meets with the cops, and she starts lying through her teeth to pin it on Frank. There’s waterworks and everything. Then she delivers the masterstroke by saying she saw him in the basement before the fire started.

Frank himself flashes back to his conversation with Wes, who brings up Rebecca’s death among other things. He gets arrested.

Atwood and Nate have a conversation, and it sounds like she’s getting very suspicious of his actions.

Annalise walks in to meet with Bonnie, with none of her weave remaining. Unfortunately, Frank’s charges are as a co-conspirator.

Wes gets out of the car in flashback, and we see Frank place a call to Bonnie. She tells him to follow Wes. In other words, Bonnie just moved up that suspect list.

On the next episode of How to Get Away with Murder, Annalise’s mom will reappear, and it looks like Laurel’s out of the hospital.
