Supergirl Casts Former-Lois Lane Teri Hatcher in Unspecified Role

As announced today, the Supergirl team has tapped Teri Hatcher to join the series for a multiple episode arc this season.

If Supergirl‘s mastered anything, it’s hiring a ton of women. From Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers to Lynda Carter as the President of the United States, the show’s cast is predominantly women. And more importantly, filled with super-alum.

For example, Kara’s adopted parents, Jeremy and Eliza Danvers, are played by Dean Cain (from Lois and Clark) and Helen Slater (1984’s Supergirl). Plus, Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort turned in her Supergirl cape to play Indigo in Season 1.

And next: Teri Hatcher!

Also from Lois and Clark, The CW tapped Teri Hatcher to play an unspecified role for multiple episodes this season.

In a statement, Supergirl‘s executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg said:

"“No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all-time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti], and the fans.”"

While The CW didn’t say who, we do know she’ll be playing a “Big Bad.” Think Spy Kids.

But where does she fit? Supergirl Season 2 has been filled to the brim with bad guys. We’ve got Lillian Luthor and CADMUS, all the villains who are coming back with weird twists, like Roulette and Parasite, then we also have the Dominators!

So, is it possible that there’s still one more villain pulling the strings? I mean, if you think about it, Lillian Luthor went down pretty easily. It’s possible she’s not even in charge of the whole operation, right? She’s just not a very good Luthor, really.
