Puppy Bowl live stream: How to Watch online
Prefer to gush over adorable puppers from the comfort of your computer chair? Here’s how to watch this year’s Puppy Bowl online.
I don’t know about you, but after the last few weeks of exhaustion every time I turn on social media, I’m ready to tune out the world and watch a bunch of puppies tussle, flop, chew, and deliver tiny barks at the camera for a few hours.
While you can certainly catch this insanely adorable program from your couch before the Super Bowl starts, perhaps you’re more interested in watching from your computer chair while you do other interesting activities like ponder who will replace Peter Capaldi or remember how stinkin’ excited you are for the Schuyler Sisters’ performance later in the day. So, good news, it’s 2017 and of course, we can watch the Puppy Bowl online like basically everything else.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t currently look like the Puppy Bowl will be live-streamed for free anywhere. You can, however, access the program at any time during its 10-hours-on-repeat run on Super Bowl Sunday via an online streaming service that includes Animal Planet. That means Direct TV, Cox, Xfinity, Optimum, or any of the other many providers listed at that link.
In addition, if you’re bereft of a cable service but have a PlayStation 3 or 4, you can use that to access Animal Planet on either console via a subscription to PlayStation Vue. Subscription prices vary. But you can sign up for a free trial to see if the service is something you’re interested in. You don’t need a fancy package if you were considering subscribing anyway–their cheapest option, $29.99 a month, includes Animal Planet too.
Finally, if none of these options meet your Puppy-viewing needs or if you can’t watch the fluff show live, no worries. You can rest assured that Animal Planet will post plenty of highlight videos on their YouTube channel that you can watch for free. This may be preferable since you won’t have to endure constant pauses or the occasional wince-worthy commentary.
Keep in mind that as necessary, ridiculous, and cute as the Puppy Bowl may be, the reason at the heart of the program is to raise awareness for animal adoption. Every puppy in the Puppy Bowl is from one of several animal shelters. And the official website has plenty of resources to help you out if you’re curious about adopting. As the owner of four adopted animals in total (two cats, two dogs), I highly recommend adopting. Well, if you’re prepared. And interested in a furry friend for life! Spread the word if you can while you enjoy the Puppy Bowl and help get these great animals to lovely homes.
