Here are 13 Actors We Think Can Play the Next Doctor on Doctor Who

1. Idris Elba

Idris Elba is everywhere and no one is complaining. Maybe it is because he is absolutely beautiful to look at or because he’s an incredible actor but he is in television and movies and we want him in so much more. So of course we want him to take on the role of the Doctor.

It’d just be great having Idris play the part. He’d be a more serious take on the Doctor, probably a drier sense of humor than the Doctors before him but also Idris could surprise us. From interviews and roles he’s done in the past, he does have that fun side to him that could be reflected well in the Doctor.

Truly, I think it’d be a good role for him to take on. He always has this image of being a serious man who plays tough guys and maybe the goofy side to the Doctor would bring out something that not many have seen before in Idris Elba.

His movie schedule and upcoming roles may prevent this from happening, but it is nice to think about. Having Idris be the first man of color to take the role is definitely something we can all get behind.
