16. Colossus

I’ve briefly mentioned Piotr Rasputin before, when discussing his younger sister Illyana/Magik. However, Illyana’s big brother deserves a mention of his own.

At six feet, seven inches tall, Piotr is imposing enough in his human form. Things get even more impressive when he changes into his metallic form and gains superhuman strength. Despite his standard uniform of a cutaway shirt and tight undies, no one’s going to mess with Colossus.

Despite his intimidating powers, Piotr’s personality is far more gentle. He is introspective and honest. He’s also virtuous to the point of sometimes appearing too kind. If you’ve seen him in the 2016 movie Deadpool, then you’ll get that sense. Colossus is monumentally kind, but he can be so virtuous as to be priggish.

That doesn’t mean he can’t go on cool adventures, though. His strength and stamina, not to mention stage presence, bring a lot to the X-Men’s adventures. He’s even got a pretty cool party trick with fellow X-Man Wolverine called the “fastball special”. Colossus simply picks up Wolverine and hurls him to wherever he needs to go. That move actually originated with Superboy and Robin in 1958, but Wolverine and Colossus cemented its popular, fan-favorite status.
