New Injustice 2 Trailer Introduces Two Villains and a Deeper Story

With the new Injustice 2 trailer, DC basically proves that their video games division is vastly outpacing the DC Extended Universe.

When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, people freaked out for many reasons. It lacked action, carried a very dark tone and pit two of the most well-known superheroes against each other for a very underwhelming climax. Yet, Injustice 2 seems to be going in the same exact direction and is one of the most anticipated games of the year.

And they’ll be using Darkseid! He will only be a playable character if you pre-order Injustice 2, though. There’s a lot of overlap here, but one project is doing a lot better than the other.

Watch the trailer below:

Maybe NetherRealm should go visit Zack Snyder on the Warner Bros. lot and explain how a strong narrative only compliments incredible character design and strong action sequences. Now, this trailer didn’t showcase as much action unfortunately, but the computer graphics used are twice as amazing as any DC film at this point. Maybe DC and Warner Bros. should think about making a feature-length film like this. Or at least, pluck some of the talent from these games and promote them to the film franchise. Tim Miller came from video games and went on to make Deadpool.

Moreover, this trailer finally answers the call for an appearance from Brainiac, who deserves to be depicted in media more often like this. His appearance is just one of several new additions to the sequel game, with Warner Bros. boasting it will be one of the biggest rosters ever.

I mean, I know Harley Quinn influenced a lot of Margot Robbie’s look for Suicide Squad. So now, just imagine that happening with Supergirl. She looks amazing here!

Injustice 2 hits shelves this May.
