14. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures

Yes, we know: they’re actually two separate games. Since Nintendo has only bothered to re-release Four Swords once as a special anniversary gift and Four Swords Adventures not at all, to the point where neither are listed on the official Zelda page, we feel justified in squishing the two together, since they share a gimmick: four players can play at once. (Sounds an awful lot like Tri Force Heroes, doesn’t it?)

The games share a very similar plot as well as the similar gimmick. Vaati, an evil wind mage, has broken the seals keeping him away from Hyrule, so he’s kidnapped Princess Zelda. It’s up to Link — splitting himself into four with the power of the Four Sword — to rescue her once more.

Where Four Swords Adventures, at least, shines is in the fact that you can play it as a single-player game. Four Swords, not so much, but at least its original release came as a pack-in with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which is more than enough Zelda to keep one person occupied for quite some time. If you have to pick, go for Four Swords Adventures, which is pretty easily found on sites like eBay.
