Tonight, we prepare to bid goodbye to the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Here’s how you can watch President Obama’s farewell address online.

After two terms and eight years, we prepare to say goodbye to the 44th President of the United States. During his time in office, Barack Obama accomplished many things, and we are truly sad to see him go. As all presidents do when they leave office, President Obama will address the nation in his farewell address. For every president, it serves as a time to address the “American people as a way to share both their reflections on their time in office and their outlook on the future of our country.”

During his time in office, President stood as a beacon during troubling economic and social times. He will be succeeded by Donald Trump, a businessman from New York. Like his eight years in office, expect President Obama’s speech to be filled with hope and optimism for the future.

About a week ago, President Obama shared this letter on the White House’s blog (because he’s with it like that):

"I’m just beginning to write my remarks. But I’m thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here."

In addition to watching the farewell address, the White House also encourages everyone to share their stories on social media using the hashtag #YesWeCan.
