On last week’s episode of Project Runway Junior, the kids faced the unconventional materials challenge. Instead of visiting Mood, the kids needed to use pool toys to realize their designs. There were a lot of floaties and flowers involved, which ultimately led to Lucas’ demise.

If Izzie was the strongest contender last week, all eyes are on Cartier. She wowed the judges with her ombre flower layering and appeared to feel the most comfortable with the unconventional materials. Of course, it’s not television — reality or otherwise — if we aren’t introduced to specific archetypes. By the second episode, it’s very easy to see which kid fits into which category. Moreover, I can probably tell you which kid would take issue with “being put in a box.” While I find most of the kids interesting and refreshing, it’s clear who will make it to the Final Four and who won’t.
