After Carrie Fisher passed away in late December, her books quickly sold out everywhere. However, that could change very, very soon.

This may not be surprising, but not every single Carrie Fisher fan owned a copy of any or all of her books before she passed away. In fact, her books rapidly started to sell when the news hit the airwaves late last month. (Right now, Amazon even lists books like Wishful Drinking as “temporarily out of stock”, which we all know is basically a code for “we’re really, really out of this thing”.)

However, Entertainment Weekly now reports that Simon & Schuster, which publishes some of her books, is working to hastily reprint them. Although there’s no hard date, EW quotes Jonathan Karp as saying that they’ll have more books ready to go this week. Indeed, they’ve ordered 20,000 copies each of Wishful Drinking and Postcards from the EdgeShockaholic will have another 10,000 copies available soon.

Incidentally, Fisher’s latest book, The Princess Diarist, currently lists a back-in-stock date of Jan. 11 on Amazon. Before you start suspecting that Simon & Schuster won’t follow through, take a look at the publisher. Blue Rider Press is actually a part of Penguin Random House.

In total, Fisher published seven books. Her novels are Postcards from the EdgeSurrender the PinkDelusions of Grandma, and The Best Awful. Meanwhile, her nonfiction includes Wishful Drinking, Shockaholic, and The Princess Diarist.

If we had to pick — and if you’re pressed for time — Wishful DrinkingPostcards, and The Princess Diarist might be the top three choices. None of them are particularly long, but all three have interesting looks at what it was like to be Carrie Fisher. Yes, even Postcards from the Edge does that, even though it’s technically classified as fiction.
