A Culturess New Year’s Playlist
Country
Country music is another genre that I know very little about, other than what I can’t not know from pop culture references and whatnot. I used to be huge into country when I was in middle school and high school, and that was primarily because I lived in a semi-suburban semi-rural town surrounded by rural towns in the Midwest. But I’ve never really connected with the music. I can, however, appreciate that a vast number of people do connect with it, and I won’t judge or poke fun. I’m just saying that if you think I missed some obvious songs, there is a reason for that.
Country music isn’t necessarily party-worthy music, although there are some good country party anthems. I’ve tried to comb through the best country songs of the year and choose those that would be suitable for a party atmosphere. There are a couple that might be a little sappy, but everyone needs some sap in their life, so I figure no one will hold it against e too much.
