A Culturess New Year’s Playlist
Hip-Hop / R&B / Rap
2016 was a great year for hip-hop and R&B. New artists paved their way and old favorites released new music that was full of fresh inspiration and nostalgia.
The great thing about hip-hop is that it makes excellent party music. Even if you have no idea who you’re dancing to, heavy beats and the ever-desirable proportionate syllabic spacing make it hard to sit still. Check out some of the picks for our playlist below!
I will be the first to admit that rap is not my forte. I also have a hard time distinguishing between rap and hip-hop sometimes, and my friends enjoy poking fun at me for this. Whatever. I know that this year brought us more than a few award-nominated and award-winning rap albums, so let’s pull some party-friendly tracks from those for this playlist!
