21. Dateline on ID – Investigation Discovery – 4 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday

Technically this is the same thing as the NBC show of the same name, only Investigation Discovery repackaged this show and made it the marathon to watch on New Year’s Eve. You can watch all the gritty real-life crime unfold for yourself starting at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, stretching into 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

This show has had some of the biggest names in news at its helm as host, including Lester Holt, Jane Pauley, Tom Brokaw, and Katie Couric. You’ll see them pour into major news stories, turning over every rock in order to give the viewer the most information possible about a case. The signature show doesn’t hesitate to ask questions or pour into the real-life drama that unfolds in each one of these stories. A lot of unsolved and cold cases get locked away inside police files sometimes, and this show doesn’t hesitate to delve as deep as it can in order to find out the truth. I remember watching this as a kid at my grandmother’s house and being pretty shaken up by the end of each episode.

If you’re a fan of real life crime, you may want to check this marathon out. Either way, you’re bound to hear some fascinating, gripping, and dramatic tales whenever this show is on.
