Did you know that this song is about a holiday one night stand? I didn’t even realize it until this year. This guy- the guy singing the song- really gets attached. Just read the lyrics. He gave his heart to someone last year, but the very next day she gave it away. Now, a year later, he’s asking if she recognizes him. When she says no (presumably), he says he’s not surprised.

Whoa, dude.

This 1986 version of a song that we all know VERY well is the best. I tried to find a more interesting version of “Last Christmas”, but once the Wham! is in your mind as THE version, there’s no changing it. And unlike some other Christmas songs that you can repeat on a playlist with little recourse, this one is the ONLY version of the song on our playlist.
