10. Master of None

If you’re about to start watching the above trailer, put some headphones in, because it is pretty emphatically not safe for work. Anyway, Master of None stars Aziz Ansari as Dev, a young guy just trying to make it in New York while also handling adulthood.

It’s a comedy, so his attempts at adulting do not always go so well. You know, like a jack of all trades, but a master of none? Congratulations, you just got the pun at the heart of this series’ title.

In fact, the episode “Parents” won an Emmy this year for its writing, also by Ansari working in tandem with Alan Yang. (It also features Ansari’s own parents as Dev’s parents.) Ansari also got a directing nomination as well as lead actor and outstanding comedy series nods. In categories that involve titans like Veep, it really is an honor just to be nominated.

Unsurprisingly, this series does have a TV-MA rating, with a lot of strong language usage in particular. With just 10 half-hour episodes, though, you could easily knock this entire series out in two days or even just one (though, as always, we are not necessarily saying you should do these things, only that you can).
