8. Hogsmeade

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, we got to see Harry and his friends go to Hogsmeade. It wasn’t on Christmas Day exactly but going to the village that time of year reminded us of the joy of shopping for presents and just enjoying ourselves.

While it was generally a sad trip because then Harry found out that Sirius Black betrayed his parents (a lie obviously but he didn’t know that), those first initial moments were absolutely amazing. Harry was laughing and having fun, and he, Ron, and Hermione were enjoying themselves.

With Harry Potter, those moments are few and far between. They have so much on their plates, who would blame them? They constantly have to fear for their lives and try to help save the wizarding community. So when we finally get to see them be children, it is a really fun and enjoyable moment.

Also, the whole trip to Hogsmeade is just truly fascinating. Seeing them buy candy and go to the Three Broomsticks is great. Everything about the little town is fascinating and cool and it just gives the Golden Trio a break. The Hogsmeade trip led to the greatest line in Harry Potter cinema history: “He was their friend and he betrayed them. HE WAS THEIR FRIEND.”
