Speaking of underwhelming plots, George Lucas gave all the Fetts the short end of the stick. Honestly, he screwed a lot of his bounty hunters. Which is so unfortunate because some of them were pretty cool.

In fact, some of them were so cool, they remain iconic members of the Star Wars cast and deserve their own spin-off.

While I totally understand that Jango Fett was the clone used for the entire army, I’m wondering why Count Dooku didn’t bother finding someone taller … smarter … maybe even a different species. Why did it have to be Jango Fett? Further, why did he die at the end of the movie? And so stupidly?

Let’s assume the answer is because it motivates Boba Fett to become a bounty hunter. But if that’s the case, it also waters down Boba Fett’s appearance in the original trilogy. Like, just as I was about to let it go that Boba Fett fell into the Sarlacc pit, I’m reminded that Jango Fett was a wannabe Mandalorian who didn’t have the sense to move out of the way.

And if he was such a great bounty hunter, he would’ve killed Padme. How about them apples? Unlike his son, who at least tracked down Han Solo, Jango Fett only had a lousy fight in the rain.
