December 14th, A Pentatonix Christmas Special
NBC

Pentatonix has, astonishingly, made a name for themselves in modern, mainstream pop music, despite being an a cappella group in the era of over-produced music and multi-layered instrumentals. The fact that most of their music are also covers adds to the allure. Still, they have done an excellent job of finding their niches (yes, niches, plural), one of which is Christmas music.

The group started off as winners of the NBC singing competition The Sing-Off back in 2011. Since then they have released six albums, two of which are Christmas albums. Both albums, That’s Christmas to Me, and A Pentatonix Christmas have reached #1 on the Billboard Holiday charts.

"“A Pentatonix Christmas Special” celebrates the holiday season with a one-hour television event where viewers can enjoy the Grammy Award-winning musical phenomenon Pentatonix performing an array of classic holiday tracks as well as modern favorites. Taking part in the fun will be superstar Reba McEntire, Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson and more!"

Expect at least “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen” as part of the array of classic tracks, since it’s the group’s latest single.

Air Date: Wednesday, December 14th
Time: 8 PM / 7 PM Central
Channel: NBC
