Parks and Recreation

Well, for one, the entire show is set in a government building. The political tone of Parks and Recreation used to be a joke to us all. We thought that there was no way a town like Pawnee could exist. Well, now the entire United States is like Pawnee. Their motives are questionable and they don’t trust a woman whose entire life was spent studying politics and workings towards the greater good.

Parks and Recreation is very much what we are dealing with currently. Go back and watch the Debate and see just how much it reflected the presidential debates we just had to endure. Hillary Clinton is Leslie Knope and we chose to let her down and elect Bobby Newport.

The show is one of those that it isn’t hard to see the politics in it. I mean, they literally work in City Hall. But only recently has it been so easily tied to the election and the political landscape of our country. Too bad the show ended two years ago or this would be the best season yet.

Just imagine Leslie Knope having to watch Donald Trump rise to power. She’d lose her mind and canvas like  crazy for Hillary. But it is clear that Parks and Recreation is very much about the political divide in the sweet town of Pawnee, Indiana and now it is more socially relevant than ever before.
