Pentatonix, A Pentatonix Christmas
November 18, 2016
Pentatonix is the surprisingly successful a cappella supergroup that came out of NBC’s The Sing-Off. They won the third season of the show back in 2011, the same year that they came together as a group. A cappella necessarily means that they do not utilize instruments in their arrangements, but instead, are well-known for their instrument-like vocalizations, tight and unique harmonies, and wicked covers of well-known pop songs, as well as original songs. A Pentatonix Christmas is their second volume of Christmas songs, following That’s Christmas to Me in 2014. Their rendition of “Little Drummer Boy” went ultra-viral, having been viewed on YouTube more than 94 million times. This album’s super hit is sure to “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, which they released a video for this week.
