Kris Allen is the Season 8 upset winner of American Idol. Kris beat out Adam Lambert, who had basically won over America and the judges during the season. Before American Idol, Kris released an independent album titled Brand New Shoes. Post Idol, Kris released five studio albums, not including Somethin’ About Christmas. This Christmas album includes five original songs which he co-wrote. So far, reviews of this album have been positive with fans exclaiming that none of his original music is “cheesy” and that his voice lends itself to Christmas music perfectly. From my listen, I can say his arrangements of classics are unique, but have not lost the feeling of songs we all know well and love so much.
