She & Him, Christmas Party

She & Him are one of those groups that you probably don’t know, will learn about, and then wonder how you never knew about them. The duo consists of TV and movie actress Zooey Deschanel (The New Girl, Yes Man) and M. Ward. M. Ward (Matthew Ward) may also be known for his solo musical career, or work with the folk-rock group Monsters of Folk. She & Him have been making music since 2008, when their first album Volume One was released. Christmas Party is their second Christmas album and features a lot of classics mixed with some of the season’s more quirky songs, which fits their personality perfectly. I especially love their version of the Hawaiian Christmas song, “Mele Kalikimaka”, and “Must Be Santa” which sounds like it came right out of the sixties. There is an accordion.
