I just can’t stop smiling at the fact that R. freaking Kelly has released a Christmas album. And check out the album cover, please. It’s worth a chuckle or two.
12 Nights of Christmas is the fourteenth studio album by R&B singer R. Kelly, but his first foray into holiday music. I sure hope it’s not his last. 12 Nights of Christmas includes twelve tracks including some original holiday tracks, all written by R. Kelly himself, and covers of some holiday faves.
About the holiday music album, which he’s been working on since 2013, R. Kelly said in an interview,
"I don’t believe in just putting out a Christmas album just to sell records,” he said. “It has to be the next [‘This Christmas’]. In order to get that and capture that moment, you have to take a couple of Christmases and then you come with it.”"
