The Best Thanksgiving Episodes In The (Recent) History Of Television

As the longest running sitcom, The Simpsons is part of the very history of American TV and culture. And forget about it’s contribution to the TV animation genre. If it wasn’t for The Simpsons paving the way for mainstream animated sitcoms, we’d be deprived of a lot of good TV (like Southpark or Family Guy)
The Simpsons may have started out as just a cartoon on primetime, but they have since taken on every American issue since it’s debut in 1989, and satirized it into submission. It makes sense, then, that they would take on Thanksgiving and give it The Simpsons treatment.
The Simpsons has had close to 30 Thanksgiving episodes, but this season two episode is closest to my heart. In “Bart vs. Thanksgiving,” Bart causes mayhem, his family yells, and they all work it out in the end, so it’s a pretty typical Simpsons. Sometimes you just need a little Bart and Lisa in your life.
