Planned Parenthood Pin

For: The foul-mouthed feminist

Price: $3.00

How many times do we have to reaffirm reproductive rights before they leave us alone? Apparently, lots. As most of you know, the Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s right to choose in the case of Roe v. Wade in 1973. But pretty much every year since then, right wing politicians, pundits, and talking heads have all acted like it’s still up for debate. And the organization that has borne the brunt of all this vitriol, particularly Christian conservatives, is Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood is a women’s health organization that provides many services to women. Among them are gynecological health exams, like pap smears, mammograms, STD testing, and birth control administration. They also happen to provide abortions, and because of that, they have become the focus of anti-choice hatred.

I have personally visited Planned Parenthood every three months for several years, to get my birth control shot. And almost every time, I’ve encountered at least one protester in front of the building. These people seek to stop women from getting abortions, but the only thing that can prevent abortions is what I go there for; birth control, condoms, and comprehensive sex education.

So – for the woman who is sick of having to continue the fight for her own rights (AKA, most of us, probably), there is this cheeky pin! And its lettering should, in my opinion, be the official Planned Parenthood slogan: “Don’t f*ck with us, don’t f*ck without us.” Perfect for pro-choice and women’s rights rallies, this button is both funny and fierce, just like its recipient. Because no woman should have to f*ck without Planned Parenthood!

She’ll Love It If: She needs an accessory for her homemade “Shout Your Abortion” shirt; she regularly goes to Planned Parenthood for her women’s health needs; she has written angry letters about the inadequate sex education in schools (offering to distribute free condoms, of course – to be a part of the solution).
